Open Enrollment Information

The USW has negotiated a comprehensive benefits package for you and your family’s overall health and wellness. While you are entitled to make qualifying life event changes to your benefit selections at any time throughout the year, some things may only be changed during Open Enrollment. Please be on the lookout for the 2021 Open Enrollment packet which will be mailed to you in the next few weeks. Changes may be initiated between October 15th and November 5th. If you are considering signing up for Dependent or Elder Care reimbursement or a Flexible Spending Account, you will need to sign up during the Open Enrollment period. If you are not making changes, no action is required.

For those of you planning to retire in the upcoming months if you, your spouse or dependents are eligible for Medicare, please remember to enroll in Medicare Parts A and B three months prior to your retirement date. The enrollment process takes time and these plans need to be in effect on your first day of retirement. Please call the Hall and speak to a member of the Benefits Committee if you have any questions. (219) 762-6787.

Flu shots will also be available at no cost to you under your CVS Caremark prescription plan from October 1st through February 28th at CVS pharmacies.

Indiana Surgical Associates have agreed to continue performing Wellness Exams at their offices. In addition, beginning Thursday, September 17th they will also be adding Duneland Falls Banquet Center to their list of locations. You MUST call (219) 940-5374 to make an appointment. Masks will be mandatory and appointments at the Banquet Center will require entry through the west door.

In honor of Patriot Day, please take a moment to remember the heroes and lost souls who perished on September 11th 2001. We must never forget what we can accomplish as a nation when we stand together.

In Solidarity,
Pete Trinidad Sr.
USW 6787 President
