Strattec Negotiations

LOCAL 2-232, STRATTEC UNIT:

Your Bargaining Committee wanted to reach out to everyone and issue a statement as we enter negotiations. We will be meeting with the company to trade our initial proposals on Friday July 30 and beginning our negotiations the following week. The Bargaining Committee and USW Staff Representative have reviewed all the suggestions from our contract survey and have put together a strong and fair language and economic proposal that reflects the changes in the business, economy, job market, and over all country.

The membership has stepped up in a big way during our preparation by returning more surveys than we have ever seen before. We have adapted to the ever changing rules and regulations of the Covid pandemic allowing our members to remain safe, secure, and able to provide for their families all while pushing the company to record setting profits. While our plant and operations have changed drastically over the last year and a half, the support and solidarity of the Union has remained strong.

We are committed to providing updates on negotiations via our text program each time we meet with the company. If you know any Union member of our Strattec Unit that is not on our program, please, encourage them to join if possible or make a plan to get the information from someone who is enrolled. We may have action items and surveys that go out through our program similar to what we saw in 2018 as well.

Starting Wednesday July 28 and continuing every Wednesday through negotiations, we are asking all of our members to wear your Union gear or navy blue in support of your Union. We also have USW Solidarity car placards available for any member interested in displaying them.

While your Bargaining Committee may be limited in what we can convey to the membership at times, do not hesitate to approach us with questions or concerns during this time. We will answer anything that we can and encourage member participation.

You can sign up for the text program by filling out the digital form on the website's home page or you can text 2232STRATTEC to the phone number 63566.

In Solidarity,

Tim Reiter, Unit & Local President

Jim Regan, Vice President and Bargaining Committee
