Our local union president, Tuan Vu, has announced that he will be resigning to take a position with another organization. Per our union's constitution, our Vice President, Lindajean Thompson, will automatically be moving into the role of President. The change over will take place at the beginning of September. Congrats to both Tuan and Lindajean on their new roles!
This means that our Executive Board will be left with two vacancies - Vice President and Unit Chair for the Red Book. Our next scheduled officer elections isn't until April of 2024. So, our Executive Board will be appointing people to both of those roles at our next monthly meeting on Sept. 19. The appointees will fill those roles until the elections that will be taking place 8 months from now.
