New VP & 2 New Vacancies on Our Executive Board

We’ve had some changes in our local leadership.  Our new president is Susan Wagner-Thomas and our new Vice President is Jenn Horst. Congrats to both!  However, we now have two new vacancies on our Executive Board – the Inner Guard and a Trustee.  So, we are accepting applications for folks interested in filling either role from now until our next scheduled officer elections, which will be in 2027.  If you’re interested in applying for either role, send a brief letter of interest to usw9460@gmail.com and our Executive Board will vote on them on July 15.

Both positions come with a $75 a month stipend, and require that you attend our monthly Executive Board meetings which are on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 4pm.  If you generally work at that time, the union puts in a time off request to your employer to get you off of work, and then covers your lost wages.  The Inner Guard is responsible for making sure that the folks at our meetings are entitled to be there (and asking them to leave if they are not).  And the Trustee (of which there are three) get together for a couple of hours every few months to review the union’s financials to make sure nothing is amiss. 

These are both great ways to get involved in your union that don’t require you having to come work full time at our office.  If you have any questions, let us know.
