Red Book Solidarity Action This Friday!

RED BOOK SOLIDARITY ACTION: We are asking all of our members to wear a red, union sticker at work tomorrow (Friday, June 30). If you're a Red Book member, and you have gotten a sticker yet, reach out to the WIN team or Negotiating Committee to get one, or you can get them here at the union office. And don't throw away the sticker when you're done - hold onto it to get a t-shirt and other supplies for our next actions!

It's important that we all come together tomorrow with this action. Over the last 3 years, you have worked short staffed to ensure your patients received adequate care. In response, Essentia is demanding more “Flexibility” instead of rewarding you for your hard work.

To Essentia “Flexibility” means complete control of every aspect of when and where you are scheduled and work at the expense of patient care and safety.

This could mean any employee may be moved on a rotating basis to any location or job with no training or orientation.

Essentia also wants to ability to require workers to work less than 8-hour days, which means that you would need to come in to work more than 5 days a week to make full time hours!

You are already short staffed and overworked! How is orienting a never-ending cycle of employees with no experience or training helpful?

We know the truth, flexibility means inexperience and untrained employees, putting patients at risk.

Enough is enough! Stand with your union family tomorrow by wearing a union sticker to show Essentia that Flexibility strains workers and risks patient’s safety!
