Upcoming Conferences & the MN State Fair

There are a couple of upcoming opportunities for members of our union to represent us at important upcoming events.  If you are interested in attending any of the following events below, reach out to our office at (218) 724-5223.

1. MN AFL-CIO State Convention.  The Minnesota AFL-CIO is a coalition of most of the unions in the state, including ours. We are entitled to send up to 8 delegates to this convention, which will be held in Bloomington from Sept. 13 to 15. The union would reimburse you for lost time and travel expenses.
2. USW Booth at the MN State Fair: Every year the United Steelworkers hosts a booth at the state fair, which runs from August 27 to September 7.  We’re looking for volunteers to take on a four hour shift on any of those days.  Volunteers get a free ticket for the fair, plus an additional free ticket for a friend. Let us know if you’re interested.
3. The United Steelworkers is holding a regional Health Care Worker Conference on Oct. 23 in Little Falls MN.  Our local union has voted to send up to 10 members to this conference.  If you’d like to be one of them, reach out to the office before Oct. 1.  The union would reimburse you for lost time and travel expenses.
