Sandra Myers Shares Her Sister’s Breast Cancer Story
October 09, 2026

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pulp Mill worker Sandra Myers shares her sister Mary Deloach’s story of treatment, faith, and the joy of ringing the bell.
In 2020, as we were getting ready to pack the car and head to Pigeon Forge, Mary called me crying. I knew she needed me more than ever. We canceled our trip, and I spent that night with her talking and praying. We lost our mom to cervical cancer in 2010, so I knew how frightened Mary was. But she and I both know a God who works miracles.
Mary went through chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery while continuing to work full time at EZ-Go. She kicked cancer butt.
Most of our family was there when Mary rang the bell in April, during the COVID-19 pandemic. What a joyous day that was. I am so thankful to God for keeping my sister here a little while longer.
