Essentia Health is saying that the Radiology departments in Proctor and Lakewalk aren't getting enough business, and the equipment at those sites is too old. So they announced that they want to create a new hybrid Lab/Rad position that existing workers would be pushed into. We have heard a LOT of concerns from our members who are currently Rad Techs and Lab workers. So the union has sent the company a formal request to cease and desist, and we have demanded that they sit down and bargain with us since this will dramatically effect the working conditions of our members. We have also sent in formal information requests, since there are a lot of unanswered questions about all of this. While Essentia has not given us a formal response yet, they did say that as a result of the concerns we have brought up that they are "re-evaluating the positions." We have no idea what that means yet, but we want to let you know that we are working on this. Keep up posted if you hear anything new, and we will do the same.
