USW Local 9620 is the RWJBH Somerset Nurses' Union.  The nurses were unionized in December of 2014.  The first contract was ratified in December of 2016.  We are in the same union as  the New Brunswick nurses.  We have a different local 9620.  A different local means that we have our own contract  and our own union committee which consist of a president, vice president, recording secretary, financial secretary, treasurer, trustees, and stewards. We strive to have excellent working conditions for the nurses of RWJBH Somerset hospital.  Our nurses are dedicated to implementing excellent patient care.  The nurses, who have this devotion, need to have excellent working conditions in order to give our patients the best care possible.  Happy nurses, happy patients!  We strive for excellence, therefore we should be treated as such.  Our mission is to have fairness in the workplace, progress to competitive wages, and to have safe working conditions for our nurses.
