District 11 Mo-Kan Women’s Council Meeting

District 11 Mo-Kan Women’s Council Meeting – Topeka, KS 11/15 9am-3pm

• The Mo-Kan Council (MO, KS, NE) of the Women of Steel meets twice per year, and this is the second meeting. Members of Local 348 who live or work in those states are invited to attend.
• USW Local 307L will host, and agenda includes a tour of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company manufacturing facility. A group rate is available at a hotel in Topeka for the nights of 11/14 and 11/15.
• Rooms must be booked before 10/15 for the group rate, and registration is due by 11/1 to participate in the tour.
• In October the eboard approved lost time and expenses for 2 members, including travel, including lodging if member travels more than 80 miles to the event.
• Members who would like to attend should contact the hall or their unit president ASAP, to either claim an open slot or request that the eboard hold a phone poll to consider funding more people.

Other info:

• Local 13 is planning to send 5 members, 4 from the KC area. Local 348 members from KC may be able to coordinate car-sharing with them. 
• Members travelling more than 60-90 minutes may want to stay in Topeka the night before.
