Service Day at Union Hall

When?

• Saturday 6/24 & 7/1, 8am until at least 2pm
• Drop in anytime, stay for as long as you want
• We'll stay open as long as someone with a key is available and there's work to do!

Where?

• 319 Orchard St. Kansas City, KS 66101
• Street parking around Holy Family Park is best

Why?

• To prep for long-awaited maintenance and upgrades to the upstairs offices, meeting and storage rooms
• Paid movers will get items downstairs, but it's on us to decide what's important, pack it the way we'd like, and decide how to store it so that the hall can still operate well

Who can help?

• All members, friends & family
• Note: snacks and drinks will be provided and there are several good lunch spots nearby

How Can I Help?

• **this work day does NOT require any heavy lifting, and does NOT require going upstairs!**
• Clearing space downstairs for filing cabinets and file boxes
• Carefully storing upstairs files in boxes
• Sorting and organizing cleaning, maintenance, office or kitchen supplies
• Hanging our framed historical documents (charters, maps, etc) on the downstairs walls for now
• Creating Facebook Marketplace etc listings for furniture we don't need anymore
• Carefully disassembling upstairs furniture for storage or sale (power tools may be helpful)
• Running to the store for refills of boxes, tape, snacks, etc
• Playing music to keep us in a good mood
• Hauling away items that we're disposing, selling or donating
