(Safety, FMLA & Workers Compensation)

The Health, Safety and Environment Committee plays an essential part in ensuring that members are safe and receive assistance with matters related to health and safety benefits.

Safety

The Safety portion of this Committee is dedicated to ensuring our workplace is safe for our employees and the customers we provide services to. In addition, the committee works for better regulation and standards for our workplace and helps compile and research information to barging better health and safety language in our contract. If you experience an issue related to Safety in our workplace, please contact your division sub-chair. In addition to our committee, the Union President and at least one sub–chair are members of the agency’s Safety Committee and attend the agency’s quarterly meeting.  

FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act)

            Our FMLA Sub-Committee is an experienced group of members who are familiar with FMLA laws and regulations as well the agency’s practices and policies on FMLA. This committee can help guide members in applying for FMLA as well as advising members when issues arise during FMLA leave. If there is a contractual violation involving FMLA, the committee co-chair will refer the matter to the grievance committee. Workers’ Compensation

Our Workers Compensation Sub- Committee is dedicated to helping workers navigate the complex system of workers’ compensation and ensure they are treated fairly and receive all benefits they are eligible for.
