About Us

United Steelworkers Local 9460 is the region's leading healthcare workers union.  We represent healthcare workers at over a dozen workplaces, from the Chequamegon Bay to the Iron Range, from Pine City to Ely, and everywhere in between.  We came together and organized this union in 2000 so that healthcare workers in our region could have a voice.  Since our founding, we have succesfuly fought for and won higher wages, benefits and working conditions for thousands of workers.  And we're just getting started!

We hold monthly membership meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm.  We meet at the Duluth Labor Temple (2002 London Road).  Every member is welcome and encouraged to attend.  All members are free speak and vote on all matters brought up at our meetings.  We are a membership driven organization.  Together, we all are the union!

You can reach our office giving us a call at (218) 724-5223, or by emailing us at uswalocal9460 [at] qwestoffice.net

We publish a bi-monthly newsletter called the Pulse, which is mailed out to every one of our members.  If you would like to write for our newsletter, send an email to adamritscher [at] gmail.com

We also maintain a network of union stewards in all of our workplaces, and are in the process of setting up a Communication and Action Team to serve as a person to person network to get important news and information out to all of our members during contract negotiations and other times.  If you're interested in volunteering for either role, please call our office.
