If you work at Essentia Health and are covered by the Green Book contract, we're asking you to fill out this survey. Our Negotiating Committee will use it for drafting the proposals that they will be presenting to the company during contract negotiations. We're asking folks to fill this out by the end the week. Please forward the link to any of your co-workers who haven't had a chance to fill it out yet. Thank you! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/B7232PG

Contract negotiations with St. Luke's will be starting on April 15. We're asking folks to fill out a survey to help the union Negotiating Committee draft proposals. Please fill it out by March 22. Here is a link to the survey form: https://forms.gle/2Dyjy8zjYHmAHMvg6

Today was the vote on the Red Book Tentative Agreement.  It passed, so it will now become our new contract.  Thank you to everyone for their participation and solidarity.  It has been a long, hard fought road!

Just a quick reminder that the Red Book contract vote will be tomorrow (Thursday) from 6:30am to 7pm. You can vote in either Duluth or Superior. In Duluth we'll be in the SMMC Justice Room from 6:30am to 8:30am, then from 8:30am to 7pm we'll be across the hall in the Mission Room. In Superior we'll be in the Pattison Room, which in on the lower level next to the cafeteria. Please note that you must vote in person. See you there!

This year all of the officers of our Executive Board are up for election, from local president to unit chairs.  The elections will be held this Spring.  To run for office you have to be a member of the local union in good standing, and be nominated for a position.  You can either nominate yourself, or nominate someone that you think would be a good candidate (but check with them first to make sure they want to run!).  The link below contains a list of all of the positions you can run for, as well as a nomination form that you can print out and mail in.  Everyone who is nominated by 5pm on March 22 will be put on the ballot, which will be mailed out this April.

There will be a Red Book Unit Meeting this Tuesday (Feb. 27) to discuss the tentative agreement. We'll be meeting at 5:30pm in the basement of the Duluth Labor Temple. The easiest way to get to basement is through the door of the building facing Lake Superior. If you're driving, you can park on any side of the building. If you're taking the bus, you can take either the 101 or the 103. Get off at the Superior St. and 18th Ave. E stop and walk down to London Road.

Below are PDFs of the Red Book Tentative Agreement Summary, and the TA wage grid for years 1, 2 and 3.  There will be a Red Book Unit Meeting on Tuesday, February 27 at 5:30pm to go over the tentative agreement.

We believe the tentative agreement we have reached is the best we will achieve.  Here is a summary of what we achieved during these long and tough negotiations:
