USW 6166 Hall Closure due to COVID-19

Good day all,

Please note that the USW offices will observe the closure times mandated as below from April 1-14th.

As per Order 3 in the Order issued March 30, 2020 under The Public Health Act, unions and associations, amongst other businesses, are now required to close the place of business. This Order applies between 12:01 a.m. on April 1, 2020 and 12:01 a.m. on April 14, 2020

The Order to close the place of business means that your union or association office must close, and all work done to run your union or association must now be done remotely (i.e. from home), without staff attending the union or association office. The order does not prohibit your union or association from continuing to provide member services through remote means, including by telephone, email, holding online meetings, etc.

During the period of closure, temporary access to the union/association office is permitting for the following limited purposes only:

  1. Performing work at the place of business in order to comply with any applicable law
  2. Allowing for inspections, maintenance and repairs at the place of business
  3. Allowing for security services to be provided at the place of business
  4. Attending the office to deal with critical matters related to the closure of the business if that cannot be done remotely, or accessing goods, materials and supplies needed to operate remotely.

Please see the attached document (on the bottom of the page) as we are still very much available as usual.

 Regards

 Warren Luky
