Message from the President

I am pleased to announce we have been working with the Palladino Auto Group (PAG) to create an exciting community alliance that is now up and running.

The Sudbury & District Labour Council and the Labour Community celebrated a successful Labour Day despite the restrictions of COVID-19.  A parade of vehicles adorned with flags made its way through town to the Steelworkers Hall parking lot where attendees remained in their vehicles and enjoyed speeches through their radio and snacks delivered to their cars.  Thank you to all who attended!  *Click "Read More" for photos!

Sudbury Workers Education & Advocacy Centre is inviting you to join them for a rally to support paid sick days for workers across Ontario! The rally will take place on August 29th at 2:00 p.m. in Memorial Park beginning with speeches. At 2:45 there will be a march to Tom Davies Square where we will draw the connection between paid sick days and a Safe September.

Congratulations to this year's recipients of USW Local 6500's four post-secondary scholarships.  We wish you the very best!

The Executive and members of USW Local 6500 present representatives from Camp Quality with a cheque for $10,000.00. Camp Quality is a national charitable organization devoted to providing free camp experiences and year- round programming for children with cancer and blood disorders.
